In this blog topic, we're going to cover some of the latest trends we've seen in the last couple years. People relocate for a variety of reasons, and depending on a number of important circumstances, different locations experience population growth or decline. Here are several recurring themes that determine which states and cities receive the most (or least) relocations.
a desire to be nearer to family and friends
Cost of living Possibilities for remote work
a desire for additional room A better climate
Asking yourself some of these questions can help you choose where you and your family would be most comfortable living.
What environment do you prefer? Or, would you rather live in a city, a suburb, or a rural area?
How about the weather? Do you prefer a comfortable 65 degrees all year round or a place with four different seasons?
What is your spending limit? State to state differences in cost of living are substantial. To be sure you can afford to live where you want to, research housing costs and tax rates in several areas.
What type of frills and culture do you favour? Do you wish to visit the local museums and galleries on the weekends? Or perhaps you enjoy taking lengthy walks in the park. Consider these factors while you search for your new community.
Who is with you? There are many more factors to take into account if you have a family, such as school systems and safe areas.
These are some of the basic fundamental questions to be asking yourself and those around you. Obviously, there are many, many factors that contribute into this. At Friendly City Movers, we try to capture and analyze market conditions every single year, no exceptions to this.
As I've stated before, Canadians moving to the East Coast was a huge market trend. As a company, consumer and member of our community, these are all important signals to look out for.
